Bike Tour
-
Unfortunately, we live in a day and age where anyone can say anything they want and at the same time offer no proof to back it up.
Knowing what I know to be true, and what I have seen with my own eyes in over a decade of guiding tours down Haleakala it is gross to read the claims and blatant lies made by some of the other bike tour business that stress how they have the best safety record on Maui.
I can say this and back it up about Easy Riders. I run this business myself, I conduct the majority of the tours myself, and I am positive that my bike tour is the safest. I answer every single phone call myself and I personally respond to every email myself. Other bike tour owners do not conduct the tours themselves, they do not answer the phones themselves and they do not personally return every email themselves, you decide which sounds more accountable.
Another word about safety:
Accidents do happen. Over the years people have been seriously injured or killed doing the downhill ride on Haleakala. Nobody has ever died with my business (Maui Easy Riders), and in the more than 10+ years that I have been doing this as a guide I have never once had to call an ambulance for an accident. Most accidents happen when the bike is going under 5mph, when people are starting or stopping, or when people stop paying attention and let their guard down. To have led over 2500 tours down Haleakala over the years and to have never called an ambulance over an accident is unmatched, nobody else can make this claim and have it be true. Over 4 Million people have done this ride, so just like with anything else people are going to be injured. Snorkel tours, helicopter tours, boat tours, hiking tours, zipline tours, Segway tours and even walking tours also have people get seriously injured or killed.
If you decide to do this excursions please realize that there is an element of risk involved. But please also know that we take every precaution to see that you get it done safely, and we are the best at doing so.
